Cactus Cablers Smocking Guild Cactus Cablers is affiliated with the Smocking Arts Guild of America (SAGA). The group offers fellowship, education and fun. River at 12:30pm, September-June, 1st Thursdays. After the business segment there is a program of slide presentations, “hands-on” projects or speakers. Helping Hands This group of quilters meets 1st and 3rd Wednesdays, 9:00-11:30am. Helping Hands make scrap quilts for various charities. Donated scrap fabrics or sheets always welcome. Hummingbird Stitchers The Sierra Vista HSQG is dedicated to promoting the art of quiltmaking and educating about quilts. Meetings are held at the Sierra Vista Community United Church of Christ, 240 N Bypass 90 (Sierra Vista) each Wednesday at 9:30am., and 1st Mondays at 7:00pm. Short programs and demonstrations are presented at the monthly business meetings, and at the weekly bees. The guild also sponsors day-long workshops at least twice a year. Old Pueblo Knitters Old Pueblo Knitters (Tucson chapter of the Knitting Guild of America), meets at 9:30am on 3rd Thursdays at St. Phillips Episcopal Church. Guests are always welcome. Programs feature knitting techniques and embellishments. Patterns, fibers and sources are also shared. Old Pueblo Pleaters The Old Pueblo Pleaters smocking guild welcomes anyone with an interest in smocking. Pattern Master Boutique Users’ Group Southern Arizona PMB User’s Group is a support and education group. Members use Wild Ginger Pattern Master apparel pattern drafting software. The group primarily serves southern Arizona (Pima, Santa Cruz, and Cochise counties). They have outgrown meeting in member’s homes and are now meeting at Bernina Sewing Center in October. Silken Threads Smocking Guild This smocking and heirloom sewing group meets the first Tuesday morning of each month from 10am to noon at Friends in Deed in Green Valley. Tucson Hand Weavers and Spinners Guild General meetings, with a featured speaker, are usually held September through May, on the 4th Wednesday of the month starting at 9:30am at the Junior League building, 2099 E. River Road. Tucson Quilters Guild Learn, teach, share skills, and participate. General meetings 2nd Wednesdays, 9:30am at the St. Frances Cabrini Church, 3201 E Presidio. Programs vary.
